With the increasing demand for fertilizer in agricultural production, the records of fertilizer
tools have begun to be seen since Song dynasty, there were even special chapter for fertilizer tools in agricultural
treatises during the Ming and Qing dynasties. In this paper, we narrative the agricultural tools using for
fertilizer collection, fertilizer transportation and fertilization respectively, and analyzed the characteristics of
traditional fertilizer tools. Finally, we took fertilizer tools as an example to talk about why China has no major
breakthrough in the creation of agricultural tools during the Ming and Qing Dynasties from both the intelligentsia
and agricultural practices aspects. |
